His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him."

Christ had sent two of His disciples to get the colt. A great multitude had heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “ Hosanna! ‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’The King of Israel!” And as He rode on the colt His disciples who were watching all of this did not understand at it first. But here is the key... They (His disciples) knew the word of God !
They all had come from different walks of life but they had been founded well with the word that they remembered the prophecy mentioned in Zechariah 9:9 "“ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. " They recognized the prophecy and understood it and realized that they had been used by God to play a part in it too.
Are we well founded ? There are so many prophecies that might have its fulfillment in our generation ...but do we even know the word that we will be able to recognize it ? Do we even know the word that we will be able to understand it ?
We call ourselves Christians and are His followers. Are we well founded on His word ?
Many of us say "The prophetic books are just sooo difficult to understand !" ... Well thats because we are relying on us understanding it the moment we read it and not waiting on the Lord to teach us :-) Many of us read the Bible in 5-10 mins close it , say a prayer and we are off .... How many of us sit at His presence and say Lord open my eyes...Lord teach me ? When we sit in class, we just dont read few lines from our text book and decide "ok I dont understand" and then walk of... No, we sit for 45 mins in class...listen to what the teacher has to say,take down notes...and if we have a doubt we ask and if the teacher doesnt answer the question then we follow up on it the next day and keep asking until we have it clarified.
Why do we handle studying the word of God differently ? We need to sit at His feet and say "Lord teach me..." and listen ! I pray that we will be well founded on His holy word by His holy grace.

How many of us have at some point in our life out of frustration and desperation or maybe even out of built up anger or anxiety have asked God "WHY LORD ? WHY ??????"
I know I have ! Sometimes well actually most of the times we really dont understand why we find ourselves in certain cirumstances or situations ... But if we have been walking steadfastly in the Lord we need to remember just two things 'The Works of our Lord is great !" He is perfect and He cannot make a mistake.
So as long as He is in control there is something amazing thats gonna happen. Now dont mistake me...Im not confining this statement to materialistic blessings... no no no ... Im talking about spiritual blessings as well. Our heart's desire should always be spiritualy blessings at the top of our list . The next thing we need to remember is that His thoughts are just so deep.
In the scripture that we meditated on yesterday we learnt about the woman from Samaria . And when Christ spoke to her about the living water she was puzzled do you know why ? Because she could not see Chirst having anything with Him to draw water out of the well which was very deep. Thats how limited our thinking is... We see whats infront of us ...God sees things beyond this earthly realm...We try to figure out means and ways of doing something by what we are used to using and doing.... God does things in ways beyond our comprehension ...
Here is the beauty of it .... When we think we understand or we ought to understand God completely and know all His works then we are senseless and fools. But when we acknowledge His Sovereignity and His greatness and know that we can never comprehend the glory or the wisdom of our Heavenly Father then we are on the right track :)
Dont be frustrated or confused when you dont understand things that happen around you. All we need to do is trust Him and continue to seek Him and lean not on our own understanding.

Do you know ?
"Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”"
John 4 : 10 (New King James Version)
Here is a lil background to whats happening. Jesus is on His way to Galilee but He needed to go to Samaria. Now He comes to a city of Samaria and sits down besides Jacob's well.Now a woman of Samaria comes to the well to draw water and Christ says "Give Me a drink" Now this woman is stunned. How can a Jew ask a Samaritan for water !!
So many times we are like that . God says "Do My Will...Spread My Word " and we say "Lord You are asking me ? Why would a Holy God look upon a sinner like me ? Why would a Holy God want me me me to be used for His Glory ? "
Now we read in verse 10 Christ says "If you knew the gift of God..." What is this gift ? Its the gift of freedom from sin ! Its the gift of eternal life ! Its the gift of being alive in Christ and dead to sin ! How ? Christ took our place on the cross ...He ransomed us by His blood . Please try and read Romans 5: 12-21 & Romans 6 :1-14.
Christ tells the woman (v10) "..and who it is who says to you " .. Recognize who Christ is ! Know who He is ! Some of us think "Ok God is there when I pray and when I go to church ".... Many of us forget He is always there with us seeing every action listening to every word knowing every thought. We forget that He is our Father and we are His children . We forget that He is the great I AM. We forget that He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords ! We forget that He has called us His own !
For if you knew who He is, then what ? You would have asked of Him !!
Then what ?? He would have given you living water !!!
I started this writing it from a different view in mind,but the Lord has led me to type this. I know the Lord is speaking to you specifically. I pray that our eyes and our hearts be opened to receive His word and know that He is the Alpha and the Omega , the beginning and the End, He is our Father ... and that we as His children can ask Him and He will give us Living Water !

Are You Alive ?
"In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it"
John 1 :4-5 (New King James Version)
Praise the Lord ! I know its been a while... But I hope you remember the last time we meditated together on this verse. For those of you who dont remember you can check out the earlier post on http://sparksablaze.blogspot.com/ .
Today we will look at the second half of verse 4 "and the life was the light of men". If we still choose to walk in darkness that means we are 'Dead' ! What makes us alive ? Christ ! And He is the light of men. When we make a decision to follow Christ then we need to understand that we cannot allow any dead matter to retain within us .
Have you ever said to yourself "Why do I exist ? Why am I alive ??" Well the answer is powerful and yet simple "BECAUSE GOD ORDAINED IT " .
Sometimes when things get tough we tend to think "Maybe I was just a mistake" Well here is what the word of God says in John 1 :12-13 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." Christ makes us alive ! Its only in Him that we are alive ! He is the light ! Anything that is not of Him is darkness . Its as simple as that . And you know what ? When we receive Him into our lives He gives us the right to become what ? Children of God !!
Now for those of us thinking "i have no purpose..im just a mistake.....why am I alive".... Listen carefully to what the word of God says ...We are born not because our parents decided to have a kid.... we are not born because of just an act of the flesh.... No no no !! WE WERE BORN BECAUSE OF THE WILL OF GOD !
The fact that we are alive today is because God has purposes for us ! This life is to be used for His glory ! This body is His temple dedicated to be Holy !!
We all now know why we are alive physically . But how many of us are spiritually alive ? Is there any dead matter thats holding you back ? Its time for a breakthrough today ! Its time to get down on our knees and cry out to the Lord ! Not just for ourselves to be set free but for us to rise up as a generation for the Lord !! Its time to BE ALIVE ! Are you ready ? If you want to be prayed for to be renewed, to be set free, any prayer request ... please mail it in. Its time... Let Christ and Christ alone be Lord of our lives !

Word of God
"In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it"

Lets break this down and look at it one by one...We will God willing look at this verse for the next few days.
The first things that we see is that He is life :
We read in verses John 1 : 1-2 " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God"
He is the Word and the Word is life !! The Word that we carry , that we quote is what ? Life !
Hebrews 4:12 says the Word is "Living and Powerful" So many times we forget the reverance that is to be given to the Word of God. We forget He is the Word and the Word is life. We quote verses for fun, in jokes and jest. We forget that the Word is living and powerful.
We tend to throw our Bibles and give everything in the world importance than sitting and reading His Word.
Lets look at Revelation 19 : 11-13 which talks about Christ coming again and this time He comes not as a baby born in a manger but as a King on a white horse "Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God"
His name is called what ? THE WORD OF GOD !
Isnt that amazing ! I pray that we will give God our first and our best . And that as we come into His presence and read His word with reverance that the Lord will open our eyes to see His wondorous laws.
