Being Humble...

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."

1 Peter 5: 6-8 (New King James Version)

I remember reading this quote in the newspaper "Humilty is a strange thing ...The Moment you think you have got it you have lost it " :)

The Bible says that God gives grace to the humble !

The word of God says we need to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. The Lord taught me that if we are to be humble that also shows that we are to be patient and completely trusting in God and God alone. Because we are saying "Lord I know nothing...But I know you are my everything and my life is in Your hands"...So its not our thoughts or what we think is right ...but what He thinks and what He wills.

Now there are circumstances that might come up , when even though we do what is right in the sight of the Lord that people talk evil or falsely about us.But the Bible says from our good conduct in Christ they will be put to shame. And you know what , when people question the hope thats in us the Bible says we should be ready to share it with meekness and fear. We read in 1 Peter 3: 15-16 "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed"

This is the word that the Lord is giving us this morning ...Being humble and meekness ! Letting the Lord lead the way and we letting Him have His way in our lives. And when we do that , the Lord will exalt us ! When ? In due time !!! :)

So dont be anxious dont be burdened...I remember a wonderful man of God once said "some of us are so stingy that we dont even give the Lord our burdens and anxieties"... Lets cast all our cares upon Him for He cares for us.

Here is another thing that we need to be remember ... We need to be sober and vigilant...why ? because the devil walks about like a roaring lion (he is never satisfied ...he is on constant look out) seeking whom he may devour.

We need to be watchful of every word we allow to come out of our mouths...every thought that we allow to enter our minds...every action that we let ourselves do..and with the slightest smallest gap, one can be sure that the devil will try and make his move..
